With the holiday quickly approaching, law enforcement agencies will be on high alert for drunk drivers across the state (and the country) for the final weekend of the 2013 “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” Campaign.  This weekend also marks the 110th Anniversary of Harley-Davidson in Milwaukee.   There will be additional law enforcement officers throughout Milwaukee County.

Increased Law Enforcement for Drunk Drivers

There are usually additional law enforcement officers patrolling for drunk drivers over Labor Day weekend.  On top of the weekend, the nationwide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over pools even more law enforcement officers.  This Labor Day weekend, Milwaukee has hit a trifecta with the 110th Harley-Davidson Anniversary bringing in larger numbers of law enforcement patrols.  It is safe to say that law enforcement patrols will triple this weekend.

How to Avoid a Wisconsin DUI

The best way to avoid a Wisconsin DUI is to not drink and drive.  If you plan to drink it is safe to plan to have a designated sober driver, whether that person is a friend, family member, or a taxi cab driver.  If you are celebrating Harley-Davidson’s 110th Anniversary, take advantage of the bus routes, taxi cabs, or walk.  If you don’t live in the city, avoid a Wisconsin DUI by using the hotel accommodations.  Visiting with family over the Labor Day weekend?  If you have been drinking, sleep over at a family member’s home, or designate a sober driver if you are traveling.
