It’s that time of year again!  Wisconsinites are counting down the days for the start of the Green Bay Packers Season!  This is a time for tailgating, cheese heads, drinking and grilling – usually dressed head to toe in Packer Gear.  And even on the coldest days at the Frozen Tundra, some people still wear only body paint.  Of course it doesn’t feel cold out when you have enough drinks in you…

Tailgating in Wisconsin

People start crowding the streets, parking lot, and bars around Lambeau Field much earlier than the games start for grilling and enjoying the company of friends and family.  Tailgating is also a great time for people watching…always a few groups of wild Packer costumes.  This also means people have started drinking. Drinking during the day leads to a long day (and night) of Alcohol Consumption.  If a person has many occasions of large alcohol consumption, they may gain a higher Tolerance of Alcohol.  Other factors such as the weather, the Amount of Food a person eats, and the excitement/adrenaline of being at the Packer game can Influence the Effects of Alcohol.  When the game is over, people start heading home.

Wisconsin police officers on full force for Drunk Drivers

By the time the game is over, people begin their ride home, or wait out the traffic congestion at a local bar (usually consuming more drinks).  Wisconsin police officers are on high alert for drunk drivers after large events.  While some people may think the drive home is short (maybe few blocks), others may have a drive home that is much longer (a couple hours).  Even if a driver has stopped drinking an hour before leaving, his/her body is still Absorbing Alcohol.  Getting pulled over can change this fun-filled day into an undesirable one.
