According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, there were 93 Milwaukee police officers in violation of laws in 2011, with about 35 driving drunk while off-duty and about 16 Milwaukee police officers committing acts of domestic violence.  Many of these officers were disciplined internally, kept their jobs, and suffered little to no legal consequences.

A Sergeant of 20 years experience with the Milwaukee Police Department was charged with drunk driving in May 2012. He crashed into a house and his Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) was more than twice the legal limit. The investigation by Internal Affairs also found he had been faking his time cards.
