The issue of Milwaukee police brutality is again in the national spotlight. Over the weekend a Milwaukee Police Officer is caught on video delivering two “focused strikes to gain compliance” from what the Police describe as a man who was resisting arrest.  Milwaukee Police Chief Flynn is expected to address the media this evening regarding the conduct of his officer with this aggressive OWI arrest.

Obviously not much information is available at this time which is leading to a lot of speculation. However, the video is clear enough to see the suspected drunk driver pulled from the vehicle after it stops, he is placed on the ground and then given two punches to the head to subdue him. If there was resistance, it is not clear at this time where and when it occurred.

The aggressive nature of this OWI stop is going to play out over the media and in the court system over the next couple of months. As of today the defendant has hired an attorney to represent him and I do not think it is that much of a stretch to see another civil suit coming in the near future.
