Understanding Wisconsin Blood Testing Results

Forensic Chromatography is the science of determining the amount of alcohol in a Wisconsin DUI/OWI blood sample. Wisconsin DUI Defense Attorney Nathan J. Dineen recently graduated from the Forensic Chromatography course in Chicago, Illinois. Forensic Chromatography is a hands-on four-day course on understanding the theory and practical science behind a blood sample, hands-on use of the blood sample testing machine (a chromatograph), interpreting the results from the machine (a chromatogram), and determining the accuracy of a blood test.

Attorney Nathan Dineen is one of only two hundred attorneys nationwide and one of six attorneys from Wisconsin to graduate from the Forensic Chromatography Course.

Gas Chromatography (GC) is the scientific process used to determine what your blood alcohol concentration is. It is essentially the science of taking a blood sample and figuring out two things: 1. What is in your blood (ethanol or alcohol) and 2. How much ethanol is in your blood?  Rather than being lectured on the basics of the chromatograph and the general theories, Attorney Nathan Dineen has actual hands-on experience calibrating the machine, running blood samples, and manipulating the results.
